Most computer users occasionally use a PC repair service to manage troubles caused by unsafe browsing habits. There are so many harmful programs in the uncontrolled atmosphere of the internet. However, there are a few key steps that users can take to reduce the likelihood that you will come up against this type of problem. Prudent security habits can save lots of money that would otherwise need to be spent on computer repair work.

Use a Safe Browser

Not all web browsers are safe. a number of browsers deliver continual security updates that help protect your pc from viruses, spyware, and malware. A safe web browser will be your first line of defense against these harmful programs. Not all browsers will constantly update with information about the most recent vulnerabilities. While there are some browsers with a current reputation of dependability, it is important to do occasional research to find out if your browser is still the best option for you.

Install All Security Updates

Your operating system has some integrated tools to fend off harmful programs. For example, Microsoft Windows provides recurring security updates. These are based on information about the latest viruses and malware that are attacking machines across the world. You absolutely do not want to miss out on these software patches. Take care to reliably update your machine. This could reduce the need for later computer repair work. A lot of people wind up employing a PC repair service when a free online update might have solved a problem.

Use Good Virus Scan Software Properly

You should check your pc for viruses every few days. it is critical to always download the latest program version before running your scan. You also need the latest virus definitions. This software is important for circumventing harmful attacks. However, do not use specific virus scan software unless you are aware of other people that use it successfully. Poor virus scans sometimes work quite a bit like malicious code. They will be tough to remove from your machine. If this program doesn’t meet your security needs, it will be more complicated than it is worth. So many harmful programs pose as virus scan software. Helpful virus scan software will prevent you from wasting money on unneeded visits from your PC repair service. Proper precautions can diminish your need for computer repair work.

Remove Temporary Files Periodically

There are free programs that automatically remove temporary files. Temporary files and cookies are the preferred hiding places of tracking files and harmful applications. If you get in the habit of using a program to remove these unnecessary files whenever you end your browser session, you will considerably reduce the likelihood that you will be infected with viruses. Temporary files can chew up your free hard drive space anyway. It doesn’t hurt to keep it clean. However, deleting them after every time you close your browser can be very helpful. Many dangerous programs will bury themselves in your startup process. These means that allowing them to linger on your computer after a reboot will significantly complicate the removal process. Removing these temporary files after each browsing session will eliminate another likely hiding place before this happens. This could mean the difference between running a free program and needing to spend untold funds on computer repair work. Once malware have been permitted to run in the course of the boot cycle, a PC repair service will be required to deal with the problem.

Your home computer’s Random Access Memory (basically short term memory) is the place the computer stores certain data resources that it uses frequently so it may be opened easily and quickly. The amount of the RAM will effect considerably the speed and performance. Random Access Memory is different from the computer’s hard drive memory. Hard Drive Memory stores most of your pictures, mp3′s, programs, videos, and other saved data.

Here are some reasons you may need to add RAM:

(1) The two principle operating systems now are Windows XP and Windows Vista. “XP” has to have much more Random access memory than Vista, perhaps as much as twice the memory capacity. Look at your operating system. If it uses up around 75% of your RAM capacity your PC will probably be real sluggish.

(2) Computer gaming has to have much more RAM than does just surfing the web, word processing, etc. In addition, playing computer games also requires very fast processor speed. So, if your computer is slow while play games, look at your game specifications next to your CPU speed.

(3) Many slow computers just do not possess sufficient RAM. And besides RAM isn’t expensive. When buying or even ordering a new personal computer, get extra RAM added to it new. It is money you want regret spending.

There is a very simple test that can determine if your computer has an adequate amount of RAM. Click right on your desktop’s bottom tool bar and you will find a pop-up box. After that click the “Task Manager” and the Windows Task Manager opens displaying the Programs, Processes, etc that are probably running. Check at the lower part of the box and you should see: “Processes”, “CPU Usage”, and “Physical Memory”.

Now compare “CPU Usage” and Physical Memory. CPU usage rate is the amount of your computer’s central processing unit (or drive engine) capability is being used by proportion (i.e. 0% is idol and 100% is max’ed out). The Physical Storage Memory is your RAM. This indicates what is happening inside your computer’s processor. Simply: The nearer your memory is to 100% the harder your CPU will have to work. And the slower your computer will be.

Now, let your computer fully catch up and then run at idol. Your central processing unit usage ought to drop to 0% or at the least to 10 percent. (If it does not go down this low then maybe you have a program running – it maybe your virus protection program that is running, if not you could have been infected by a virus – and that is another problem.) Once it has fallen near to an idol, look at your Physical Memory ratio. If your computer’s Physical Memory or Random access memory still shows to be in the 75 percent or plus vicinity you do not have an adequate amount of RAM to conduct your PC at the best operating speeds.

A computer ‘guru’ will fondly call his computer hard disk drive a HD or HDD, referring to the device that stores information and data in the system. The amount of storage space a computer can use is not limited to all the limited space of a single hard drive.

In the world of computing there are some huge supercomputers and mainframes that could combine hundreds of hard disk drives for their functions. Functioning for the sole purpose of storing digital data, hard disk drives were made to be part of a computer system. Safety is guaranteed for any information entered into your hard drive before cessation of power supply.

To prevent damage due to exposure, a metal case protects the hard drive in its bed in the front of the computer system. Some devices and media posses the ability to infuse a hard drive with improved functions, and they can be bought easily on the Internet or in computer stores.

The hard disk is equipped for temporary Internet files that have been downloaded. The storage of downloaded data from the Internet on computer hard disks allows for computer users to gain easy entry into websites previously visited with little or no trouble. A wise move to maintain a decent operational speed on your computer is deleting files like those containing information on websites explored and done with, whose uses have expired to free up space for others.

SCSI and IDE standards solve the complexity of information transfer from the processor to the storage medium of the computer. If you tire of calling a hard drive by its other names or acronyms, you can also call it Winchester drives.

The first hard disk drive introduced as far back as in 1973 gave rise to the name Winchester, being very popular at the time. The storage capacity of the hard disk drive found on a desktop computer is usually between 10 and 40 gigabytes.

Bytes represent the collection of information that is stored in files on a hard drive. Instructions given to the computer on the applications of softwares, of records, and of imagery and colors are all store in the hard drive as bytes.

The workings of a computer simulate an automobile where fuel (stored up information in bytes) is pulled and channeled into the engine (the CPU) where it is burned to move the vehicle. This process works by magnetism that draws smaller particles to the hard drive from the platter. The head of the hard drive spins fast enough to generate a field of magnetism that finds the polarity on the small particles in a matter of microseconds and sucks them in.

Computer repair is easy when you have the training for it. Without that vital training you would probably just be bumbling all over the place, doing more harm than good. Knowing that your computer can get into such an emergency sometime, you should get that training today.

Computer repair training is something I believe everyone should have on some level. We all own PCs by now, and we all need to be able to fix little problems when they happen. Without that, a lot of time could be wasted during which valuable work would have been done.

The repair of computers is something that is rather technical, and that a lot of people are unable to do even given the best of teachers. You just have to have an affinity for all of those wires and cables, and the circuitry of all those computer hardware. Without them, you’d only continue to beat about an electronic bush that will only serve to confuse you more.

Folks can learn anything if they set their hearts to it. You can learn to be a computer repair technician as well. I assure you it’s not exactly the easiest thing in the world, but you can do it with the right kind of guidance. Just don’t wait until tomorrow, because time doesn’t ever wait for anyone.

You should at least be able to fix small problems on your computer before having to go for an engineer or technician. How shameful and wasteful to time, effort and money if everytime there is a bleep, you are on the phone calling for help with the system. Naaa, that ain’t right.

Repairing computers might seem like some kind of science to you, but really, it is an art. It takes you having some kind of affinity for those computer wires and chips, and having a knack for manipulating them. If you cannot bring that to the table, you cannot be a computer repair technician.

Computers breakdown too. Gosh they are not human, but they also have got parts that wear out and fall off, if you know what I mean. You want to know that you can fix them when they are done in so that you can live to use them another day.

Someone needs to be available to repair the computer when it breaks down, because it will, from time to time. That person could be you, if you choose to learn. So choose to learn.

Picture being the captain of your class and there’s this hot chick across the room from you when the computer breaks down during science class. Wouldn’t you rather be the guy who fixes it up, than the dude who ducked and made excuses?

You know, if you could be the best computer repair technician in the neighborhood, you could make a lot of money out of it, you know. People who want their PCs repaired could bring them to you, and you will fix their problems and take their monies. Just the way it should be.

Your PC Crisis

A friend of mine loves to play all kinds of games on his PC and over the internet. He spends all of his free time gaming on his computer. He talks about it too ” all the time. A few months ago, however, I saw him, and he was not happy. It seems that when he turned on his PC that morning, something was terribly terribly wrong. It was very slow to boot up. When it did finally come up, it acted like it had been drugged or maybe got drunk. The computer was all haywire.

My friend was so upset over his desktop CPU, I thought he was going to hit me or something. I am glad he did not own a gun. Not only could he not play his desktop CPU games; he could not get his PC to do anything it was suppose to do. Everytime he looked at his computer, I feared he was about to explode.

Maybe you have a friend like mine. Without his PC, he is a maniac. The level of upset when our trusty computers mess up is overwhelming, but the situation is all too common. One person told me that if it is windows PC, it is infected with something. He said it is just made that way. I dont know about that, but I have had many friends who about explode when their desktop CPU starts messing up. It seems that when we go on the internet, or get email, or do anything on a desktop CPU; they are exposed to possible infection.

I have read about many kinds of issues like worms, Trojan horses, phishing, adware, spyware, viruses, and malware. Whatever the experts may call them, these pests can really mess up a desktop CPU big time. I am told that there are three chief placed where these pests hide: temporary internet files, temporary windows files, and in the operating system itself. To get a computer running properly means getting rid of the infection.

My friend had no idea what to do when suddenly his computer was infected. He had all the typical programs for anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-anti; but none of it worked. He tried running scan after scan, but his computer was still infected. When my wifes desktop CPU messed up, we just stared at each other. We had no clue what to do. So we started by running scans. We tried several programs. All we got was more and more frustrated.

I was frustrated. I had a technician come to the office to fix the PC. $150 later, the desktop CPU was still messed up. The technician said I needed to clean my hard drive or replace it or something. The bottom line was, I just lost every bit of vital data on my computer.

Then I ran across a website that said they did free virus removal by remote connection. I was intrigued. I figured that I could not lose anything more, so I contacted them. They sent me a piece of software to install on my PC enabling them to remotely connect to my PC. From hundreds of miles away, an expert technician sat in his office fixing my computer. I was amazed. I could see some of the things he was doing on my monitor, but it was obvious he knew things I had no clue about. It took a little over an hour, but when he was done. My desktop CPU was fixed.

The technician explained that remote connection is the wave of the future for desktop CPU repair and maintenance. He said as long as a piece of hardware is not actually broken, he could fix most problems faster and easier remotely than a local technician on location.

Convinced? I am. From now on I am going to save money and use remote PC repair services. I am going to enjoy carefree computing.

I bet there are something like gazillions of registry cleaners on the market and just about as many registry cleaner reviews, but I found a product that really saved the day for me so I felt compelled to tell you about it.

This is not so much a registry cleaner review as it is challenging you to find something gets the job done as well as RegCure. It’s that good!

I’m not going to go into a bunch of technological babble. If you want you can consider this a much cleaner registry review. I’m not a techie, so all I can talk about is whether or not it actually performed for me.

If you’ve ever been sitting in front of your computer and it simply decided to shut down or simply not start at all then you probably know how it feels at that moment.

Pretty much you try desperately tostart the computer again living your own definition of insanity (doing something over and over again hoping for a different result).

Now imagine that you are giving a presentation in front of 200 people and your computer running the presentation decides to shut down.

Well there I was, just before lunch, going through slides speaking in front of 200 attendees who have paid handsomely to have me train them and all of a sudden the next slide was blue…and it wasn’t a slide I had put in the presentation.

My mouse wouldnt work, nothing was happening and slowly the beads of sweat appeared on my brow. I decided to call an early lunch…so in the interim I could see if I could get my computer running or slide out the back door if I couldn’t.

We tried everything and none of the suggestions worked so we attempted to restart it one more time before declaring my laptop a paper weight and we got it to open in safe mode.

The hotels resident geek who had heard that we were in serious need of some immediate help suggested that I go to RegCure and do a quick scan and see if that would do any good.

At this point I would have paid a Witch Doctor if it would have mattered so I did the scan at RegCure and before everyone got back from lunch it had found and fixed the errors in my registry.

I recommend RegCure because it’s easy to use and real easy to setup. I don’t need to hire an IT guy to be able to use it. You can set up RegCure to do what you want it to do.

Scan your whole computer all the time , scan individual items..don’t confuse this with an anti-virus program, your registry health is vital to your computers smooth operation. RegCure gives you complete peace of mind.

Regcure ensures that my computer is running like a well tuned machine and is fast as possible.

There are a lot of registry cleaners out there. See for yourself the difference in RegCure by trying out their product first and then run RegCure and see everything the other registry cleaner skipped.

Cleaning the hardware or checking the components of your computer require opening the case which may be dangerous to its health. The printed circuit boards inside your computer all contain small devices known as Integrated Circuits (ICs). There can be millions of individual circuits in one IC and they are all susceptible to damage from static electricity. Static electricity is a major contributing factor in the failure of computers. Eliminating damage from Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) leads to untold savings. Below are some things to remember as well as precautions to follow when working on your computer.

1. After turning off the computer, unplug the power cord to make sure there is no power to the motherboard.

2. Capacitors can still store electric charges for a short time from the when you turned off the power switch, so it is wise to make to wait a few minutes after pulling the plug before working on your PC.

3. Use a grounded wrist strap before handling computer components such as the video card, memory, hard disk, and etc. if you do not have one, touch both of your hands to a safely grounded object or to a metal object, such as the power supply case to prevent a discharge from your body to the component.

4. To avoid damage due to static electric discharge, hold circuit boards by the edges and avoid touching the individual components, wires, chips, or capacitors.

5. Use a grounded anti-static pad or the bag the component came in to place the components on and prevent static discharge when they are removed from the computer. Avoid dropping your hard drive as it is heavy and will most likely stop working if dropped.

6. Some parts are labeled as “No Serviceable Components Inside” which is not a challenge but a warning because they contain high voltage components which could cause you to hurt yourself if touched. Not all parts of a computer are meant to be repaired such as the power supply. If you determine that a part labeled “No Serviceable Components Inside”, then be smart and just replace it.

Remember that you are responsible for protecting yourself from injuries and from causing damage to your computer. A common incident is loss of stored data due to a hard drive crash. These are some simple things to remember that will protect you, your computer and most of all the data stored on your computer.
