Sure you tossed around the idea of building your own gaming computer. But who has the time? Plus it can get expensive fast, especially if you’re a noob at building computers. Yes, we all know about the great almighty leading manufacturer, but are you going to pay more for your gaming computer than your car? In reality you can get good quality, cheap gaming computers, if you know what you’re looking for.
You can get quality gaming computers at reasonable prices. The smaller, cheaper manufactures offer a lot of the same specs, just without all of the expensive add-ons. Do you really need them anyway? The point is to get a gaming computer that you can afford. Well unless you want to trade you car in for the name brand computers!
A good gaming system will have four main components: Processor, Memory, Video card, and the all important Cooling system.
Processor: The most important part of your gaming computer. The processor is also known as the core. Make sure you get a gaming computer with a dual core. Look around and see if you can find quad cores at a lower price.
Memory: While your processors are making the system go, the memory keeps track of what you are doing and what steps come next. If your system has really fast processors, but is light on memory, your games will still run slow. Memory is measured in GB or gigabytes. A decent office computer will typically have about 2GB of memory. A good gaming system should have at least 4GB and when possible 8GB or more.
Video Card: Processor and Memory are essentially. However, today’s video games consist of face pace, high resolution graphics. The video card takes the ones and zeros spit out by the processor and turns them into pictures on the screen. If the video card is not sufficient, the game will run at full speed, but the player won’t see what’s happening fast enough to react. This memory is measured in MB or megabytes. A typical gaming video card should have 512MB or better.
Cooling System: If you plan on playing your game for a couple hours at a time the cooling system is crucial to your gaming computer. There are two main types of cooling systems you can get for your gaming computer. Air cooled and the liquid cooled. You will see debates running on this one day and night. The main key is to keep your computer from overheating.
Affordable cutting edge gaming computers do exist. You may even find they have weekly sales on different models. A lot of these websites will provide forums for their members to get helpful hints and troubleshooting problems. They claim to provide excellent customer service. It is very believable if you take a look at their blogs and customer feedback.
Buying cheap gaming computers doesn’t mean they are outdated or will not work with today’s games. They may not look as fancy or have the big mark ups as the big manufactures, but this could also be a plus for some people. Regardless if you buy the cheap or expensive gaming computers, one thing you can count on is that technology is always growing. What you have today will need to be updated tomorrow. That’s another good reason why you should buy an affordable gaming system.
