Six Top Games For the Xbox 360

Everyone knows about the Xbox 360. Not only is it the most innovative gaming system to date, it also has the largest library of games, estimated at close to a thousand. With so many games, however, finding the ones that give you the most game for the buck can be difficult. Fortunately for you, you can purchase the top six picks of Xbox 360 games rather than relying on slickly advertised packages.

The worthy successor to the highly-rated Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion game, Fallout 3 has gained similar positive reviews. With its post-World War II setting, Fallout 3 successfully combines three elements of an excellent action strategy game: fast-paced action in combat, realistic first-person shooter perspective, and intelligent survival in a post-apocalyptic scenario. And even if you have yet to play a Fallout game before, you will definitely enjoy picking up Fallout 3 now.

2) Next on the list is Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and the Damned, a trailblazing game and the first in the GTA series to offer an online multiplayer mod with 15 different games to chose from. The visuals for Liberty City, along with a detailed story-line and large cast of characters have earned it several “Game of the Year” awards. Many new features have been added, such as new cars, weapons, and story lines.

3) Another game with numerous awards is Dead Space, a game that has earned the moniker: “World’s Scariest Game.” Not for the faint of heart, or anyone who doesn’t like a little gore with their game, this is for fans of dark, brooding horror and difficult, challenging puzzles. And, a brief warning, Dead Space has earned awards for its spine-chilling audio. Try playing this game in the dark. I dare you.

4) Gears of War 2 is a game for those who love third-person shooters, but don’t want the intensity the previous game offers. One of the most popular games in the history of Xbox, GoW2 has a new multiplayer option that allows for up to ten players. And it’s not just the multiplayer option. Jaw-dropping graphics, a full, immersive story-line and did I mention the graphics? A must have for any fans of the third-person shooter.

And then there is Halo 3. This is the third title in the Halo series, with the first two titled as Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2. Three of its strongest features are the multiplayer map lineup, the saved films feature and the Forge level editor, which has earned Halo 3 the Best Multiplayer Game award. If you have enjoyed the first two Halo games, the Halo 3 will make you jump for joy with all its new features.

Proof positive that not all Xbox 360 best games involve murder and mayhem is The Beatles: Rock Band music video game. Reviewers have praised its visuals and audio as the best ever yet, with some calling it a surreal experience. Users play it by using controllers shaped like various musical instruments to the tunes of The Beatles, of course.

There are so many other good Xbox 360 games out there, many worth playing. Just be careful to read all the reviews, and pay attention to notes about bugs or patches. But with so many games to chose from, you should have no trouble finding your own top six picks.

There are lots of ways to download xbox 360 games, it is particularly easy this way. Really great info here, so click to find out about how to burn xbox 360 games and find out the easy way to do it. Don’t spend hard earned cash on games anymore.

This age group of Videogames steps into unchartered pleasures we never expected would be produced so quickly. Reading a rundown of E3 news on different gaming websites the golden chalice for innovation has to go to Microsoft for Xbox 360′s project Natal. Sony PlayStation 3 created something for adolescents – the Eyepet. Nintendo declared to be the masters’ of motion controllers some 5 years ahead in terms of their experience in creating non conventional controllers.

First off let me tell you a bit about Xbox 360′s Natal. Microsoft exposed a hands free controller project called Natal. Natal works on genuine 1:1 motion control interaction with graphical and speech identification. The hardware recognises the form of a player, their actions and even their hand commands.

Shifting over to Playstation PS3′s press conference arena all the eyes were on one thing. A new magical toy for Sony PS3 called “EyeToy”. PlayStation Eye is the second generation of PS3 games using motion sensor. The EyeToy, first used in a type of playing card battle game give a notion of how games can interface with cameras and motion. An impressive magic card makes a 3D hologram when placed on the floor in front of the EyeToy unlocking various games to play using your Eyepet. Sony hasn’t stopped on handheld gaming just yet either.

PlayStation also unveiled twin handed motion sensor. It’s good that they are picking up gamers off the sofa, giving the games are worth getting off the sofa for. Sony PS3′s Eye-Toy motion controller concept was not a different concept to Natal. PS3′s future 1:1 gameplay mapping was established by someone holding virtual world things in their own hand, yes the graphics looked great.

Nintendo’s motion controller – Wii motion plus adapter for the Wii remote was announced last year and this month it moved on sale. Nintendo also talked about the latest Nintendo DS, DSi and Wii games: Sports Resort with Motion Plus, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario for Wii and Wii Fit Plus the second in the Wii Fit series comes with new game software available separately for people who already bought a Wii Balance Board.

In World of Warcraft, you need to choose a class for your character. There are many classes available for your hero. One among the most popular class in World of Warcraft is Mage class. The mage class uses magic for attack or defense. This class is popular because it has a special ability for crowd control which mean you can control or attack several opponents with just one hit. In example, a mage can freeze multiple enemies at once. This is particularly effective for fighting lots of enemies. Mage can also do polymorph which means you can turn an enemy into, usually a sheep thus making them vulnerable.

A mage class also has it weaknesses. It is indeed one of the most powerful class in World of Warcraft since its magic attack can certainly reduce significant amount of HP from the enemy. It is also very effective for medium or long range combat. But for close range combat, I would not want to fight as a mage. Mage is weak in physical defense. Plus the spell casting can take sometimes before you finally strike a magic blow at the enemy. So a mage will be very powerful when fighting in a wide open area. Since you can easily run around to avoid being hit in close range combat. And you can also run far away from the enemy in order to give you time to cast a powerful spell and then hit your opponent with the spell.

Mage classes are one of the most versatile classes in World of Warcraft. Below are some tips for you to use if your hero is a mage class hero. This tips will surely make your journey easier.

1. When you go into battle with an opponent, start casting your most powerful spell when given the chance. Do not use your weak spell. Just be sure you have enough space to cast the spell since casting a spell will take sometimes until the spell is ready. If the first spell successfully hit your opponent, immediately cast another spell. Hopefully you will be able to kill the enemy after your second spell, just before the enemy has a chance to strike you.

2. If you are in a close range combat and the enemy has already strike a successful blow to you, immediately freeze your enemy and then run away from him. If there is a another enemy, freeze him too and cast polymorph spell to turn the second enemy into a sheep. Then you hit the first opponent until he dies. Immediately heal yourself before the effect of polymorph spell on the second enemy wears off. Now you are in full health, or at least having more health and ready to strike the second opponent.

3. As I mention before that mage class is weak in physical defense, so I would highly suggest for your hero character to equip yourself with lots of potions. You can buy option in the Auction House. Just look for a good deal for potions and buy it. You can also look for other good deal stuffs at the Auction House. Another important item is elixir. What does it do? Well, elixir will boost your spell power and intellectual. If you already has a strong mage character with powerful spell, when you use elixir, your attack will become more powerful. Elixir can also be bought at the Auction House. If you did not want to buy, then another option to obtain the items is from combining herbalism and alchemy thus you can create your own potion or elixir.

4. When you choose a mage as your class for your character, you will need a staff or wand as its primary weapon. I would suggest for your mage character to use wand as your primary weapon. A wand is more flexible if you need to attack from a distance. A wand also great when your character is low on mana. You can easily freeze the enemy with a wand then hit the opponent with a killing spell or powerful spell.

5. Arcane intellect is very important for a mage. So do not ever forget your arcane intellect. You will need this power to be up all the times along with another power of your choice. And remember to make a good use of your elixir. Elixir can be very helpful.

6. Herbalism is a very good profession for a mage in the World of Warcraft. When you reach a certain high level, your mage character will learn a very crucial skill which is Lifeblood. With Lifeblood, you can restore an amount of health in the middle of a fight. This skill is definitely useful, especially when your stock of potion is low. You can use Lifeblood to replace potion since it will have the same effect and sometimes have a greater effect compare to potion.

7. When the enemy suddenly attacks you, then it is best for you to run away from the enemy. Give your character enough space to cast a spell. Two spells which will be very effective when you are being ambushed are blink and freeze. Blink is a spell for teleporting yourself away from the enemy. When you are quite far from the enemy, then cast spell to attack the enemy. Freeze is also a great spell to use. You can combine using blink and freeze in combat. The two spells will be very effective in combat.

Follow the above tips in your quest in Azeroth as a mage class character and I assure you that your journey will be much easier. Whether you aim to be an arcane, frost or fire mage in World of Warcraft, those tips will help you to level up quickly and easily.

Cursed Mountain is the first true survival horror game for the Nintendo Wii. Unlike other horror games, Cursed Mountain doesn’t rely on blood and guts to shock you. It has atmosphere and storytelling to that instead.

The game sets you off climbing a mountain in search of Frank, your sibling who got himself lost earlier while looking for Terma, some sort of Buddhist treasure. Eastern philosophy and Buddhism combine in Cursed Mountain to create a believable and compelling back story.

Having been developed exclusively for the Wii, it’s easy to presume that the lack of gore content is down to the graphical capability of the Wii, but Cursed Mountain has some of the best graphics on the platform and it looks very much to have benefited from the single platform release.

Graphics aside, the control system has also benefited from being developed solely for the Wii, with careful consideration as to how to make the most of the controller for each bit of gameplay, rather than trying to force things onto it as happens often with games ported from other platforms.

The way up the mountain isn’t predefined. You can choose how you try and make it to the top, and as you move forwards, Cursed Mountain throws new challenges at you, such as the thinning of the air as you climb, making you race around trying to find discarded oxygen bottles from unfortunate climbers.

The combination of puzzles and sections which allow you to decide how to progress, with decent graphics – a novelty on the Wii, and a well thought out control system, make Cursed Mountain and ideal game for the adult who is looking for something a bit more involving on their Wii. It’s not gratuitous by any means, but Cursed Mountain is not for the faint hearted either.

Cursed Mountain is out 4th September 2009 and is only available for the Wii.

Talk about the Xbox or Xbox 360 console, and you have to start with Halo – the console’s most successful game franchise. So, when Halo 3 “finished the fight”, you’d be forgiven for thinking that was it for Halo. Of course, it wasn’t and Bungie is set to release Halo: ODST (Orbital Drop Ship Trooper) taking gamers back to the Halo universe, only this time things are a little different.

First off, there’s no Master Chief. The hero of the previous Halo games is conspicuous by his absence in Halo: ODST. Instead you play as a rookie human, with the game starting in a drop ship as you and your more experienced team prepare for a drop onto a Covenant ship. The drop goes wrong and you appear to drop to your death, only to awake hours later all by yourself.

The game then becomes a search for the missing hours, playing the rookie and the rest of the team through a series of flashbacks. It’s a lot more varied than previous Halo games, and certainly creates an engaging story. One thing gamers will notice in Halo: ODST is that as you play as a human rather than a Spartan (the amped up Master Chief character is a Spartan), the character is slower and can’t jump as far.

Halo: ODST’s campaign mode also amply demonstrates one of the other changes since Halo 3: the graphics. There is a significant and noticeable improvement in the Halo ODST’s graphics over the previous game, and Bungie puts that down to increasing familiarity with the technology and an existing game engine that has allowed them to focus on the details, rather than building from the ground up.

Halo: ODST wouldn’t be a Halo game without multiplayer though, and while it uses the Halo 3 mode for competitive games, Halo: ODST does have a new collaborative mode. Named Firefight, it will be familiar to gamers who have played Gears of War 2′s Horde mode, as it sees four of you taking on wave after wave of Covenant forces and just trying to stay alive for as long as possible.

Where Horde felt like a defensive game, at the least the early stages of Halo: ODST’s Firefight feel more like taking the fight to the Covenant. You can rack up the points by offensive play.

If you like teaming up for some gaming, then Halo: ODST’s Firefight mode is a great experience. Having played it, there’s no doubt that the seven lives shared among you and your team mates can quickly run out.

As always with Xbox 360 games, there’s the question of downloadable content. Originally Bungie claimed there were no plans for Halo: ODST DLC, but having seen the box for Halo: ODST, there is a listing for downloadable content, which indicates that there will be extras, probably the form of map packs.

The release date for Halo: ODST is set for September 2009, and it will be released exclusively on the Xbox 360 console. Like the other Halo games so far, it will be published by Microsoft and has been developed by Bungie. Also like the other Halo games so far, the anticipation is that it will be a worldwide success for the Xbox 360.

We have all heard the tales and knee jerk conclusions: copying is piracy! Piracy is illegal! Prison time! Huge fines! End of the world! Even mentioning the word “back up” in the open is often met with disapproving glances and stern, reproachful words. I am here to tell you that not only is copying games LEGAL, but it is fairly easy and extremely convenient with an X360 backup creator software.

First I will have to say: piracy IS illegal. Software is property and distributing stolen property is illegal. However: backing up games one already owns is NOT. It is fully and one hundred percent LEGAL as long as the copies in question are not subsequently distributed. Now that we’ve discussed that, the question is: why back up games I already own? The answer is simple: to protect your original disc and investment.

Not only do videogame prices get higher and higher every year but as the videogames themselves become more complex they need to pack more data into each dvd. This increase in data amount makes it more likely that a simple damage, the most minor of surface damages, can alter the experience or even render the software unplayable. Imagine that: a sixty dollar game you love and have invested dozens of hours is rendered unplayable just before you finish it. Is there anything more frustrating?

By creating a copy and playing it you are ensuring that the factory original piece of software always remains in pristine condition, usable for as long as you want to play it.

When the next generation systems were first released, backing up games was so much trouble, a task that only the most experienced could manage. Nowadays, with the existence of the Xbox 360 backup creators, it is relatively simple to protect your discs and ensure they keep on gaming for as long as you do.
